AGE 21 FROM ISAMILO, MWANZA.
Why did you Join Pikilily?
I was inspired by Claire Elsdon’s story! I enjoyed listening to her talk about the aims of Pikilily and the difference the motorcycle ambulance project could make to pregnant women in Sengerema. I wanted to be part of the project, as I felt that it would not only help meimprove, but allow me to help my fellow Tanzanians.
What did you do before?
I have been working as an electrician. After I left school, because I couldn’t afford to go to high school I took a vocational course and became an electrician.
What excites you most about Pikilily?
I couldn’t wait to get out on the motorbike.
What are your aspirations?
When I was younger I wanted to work in a pharmacy, as I felt it wouldgive me the chance to help people. Now that I am with Pikilily I know I will be able to help expectingmothers and I hope to be with the organisation for a long time!
