AGE 25 FROM UKEREWE ISLAND
Why did you Join Pikilily?
I wanted to join Pikilily as I am a mother and I know how difficult it can be when you are in labour – the pains were so bad, I thought I was going to die! I really want to help other women with their pregnancy.
What did you do before?
Before I came to Pikilily I was at a training centre taking vocational courses, while selling fish at the local market. This didn’t work out though as the transporter for the fish didn’t cover them during rain and they all went bad.
What excites you most about Pikilily?
Having a job, where I can both help people and learn new skills.
What are your aspirations?
When I was younger I wanted to be a nurse like my auntie who I used to live with, but I didn’t finish school or could afford to do the training.
Do you have any children?
Yes, one, a daughter aged 5. She is still living in Ukerewe with mymother until I can earn enough to have her to live with me.
